28 Nov

Is this the real life or it’s just fantasy.

The Muppets sing Queen.

Everyone has been sending me this. I thought I’d put it up here. Animal is priceless.

in Bethlehem

17 Mar

We are now in Bethlehem. About to perfrom at Touchstone Theater on Thursday. And as I described it to someone, it appears like Milwaukee — to have a soul of its own; very independent; very cool.

Now I know some people may only think of Laverne & Shirley when they think of Milwaukee, but after being in the area for 2 months last year, I gained a love for Milwaukee, and towns that express themselves their own way.

The other thing that being in Bethlehem reminded me of, is the Pennsylvanian tradition of relgious freedom. This being the state where various religions were welcomed from persecution. It makes it fitting that self (the remix) starts here in Pennsylvania because I have always seen it as my theatrical state of independence — the Chrissy Hynde version mixed with Donna Summer.

The economic crisis and 8 inches of snow.

27 Feb

The economic crisis is like 8” of snow.
Here’s why.

Since I have moved to Minnesota, I have been reminded every winter of this one truism — Snow beats Karimi. It’s like a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors. Bam! Snow! I think I can schedule a meeting around it; go out to work in it. No! Snow wins.

You cannot drive the same, live the same. When snow falls, you must obey its rules. If you try and think you are driving in Los Angeles at 80 degrees, then you will pay.

Snow, as a friend tells me, reminds us to slow down. Slow down, Robert. Slow down, even when I don’t want to.

This economic downturn is snow. It’s a fast storm of snow, and there are people out there that still want to drive around like it’s a sunny day. Economic downturns, like snow, remind us to slow down. Slow down, America. Slow down, even if you don’t want to.

The Republicans fear of socialism right now is equivalent to someone saying the sun still shines in winter; thus, we should observe the rules of Spring. Silly Elephants. We need to be conservative, but we also need to build and get ourselves to Spring.

Not sure if we need a bailout, but if someone doesn’t shovel the snow, and pay the heat, we will be locked up and frozen…thus dead before the snow thaws.
